Why did you start this venture?

The main goal behind Accessify was to bridge the accessibility gap in the mobility and entertainment industry. As a wheelchair user, I’ve personally faced challenges navigating environments that weren’t designed with accessibility in mind. Accessify aims to empower people with disabilities by providing real-time data, helping them navigate different environments (cities, events, venues...) with confidence.

Have you successfully fundraised?

In the beginning, Accessify has been primarily bootstrapped. But in the last year, we’ve leveraged 2 grants totaling $25,000 and partnerships to support our early-stage development and market validation. Additionally, we’ve focused on lean product development to maximize impact while minimizing costs. However, we are exploring additional funding opportunities, strategic partnerships, and investment options to scale our platform and expand into new markets.

What trends are impacting your business?

One key trend shaping Accessify is the growing emphasis on inclusive design and accessibility in public spaces and digital experiences. Many businesses are realizing that accessibility isn’t just a compliance requirement—it’s a competitive advantage. With increasing regulations and rising consumer expectations, they are seeking better solutions to accommodate diverse audiences, which presents a strong market opportunity for Accessify.

What has been the biggest growth related challenge?

One of the biggest challenges has been navigating the ecosystem of stakeholders in the accessibility space. Many see it as an additional cost rather than an opportunity for inclusivity and business growth. Figuring out who is willing to pay and why has been an ongoing process—balancing B2B SaaS, compliance-driven partnerships, and consumer engagement to create a sustainable revenue model.

What advice would you give to first time founders?

Start with a strong problem-solution fit. Don’t fall in love with your idea—fall in love with solving the problem. Know exactly who loses sleep over the problem you're solving—because the people who feel the pain the most are the ones who will pay for the solution.

What drives your forward when facing challenges?

Every time I hear about someone missing out on an experience—a concert, a conference, a moment with friends—because of an accessibility barrier, it fuels me to keep building. Accessify isn’t just another startup; it’s a mission to turn frustration into freedom. The thought of creating a world where no one has to second-guess whether they can attend an event keeps me pushing forward. Beyond that, I love the independence and flexibility that come with being my own boss. The ability to shape my own path, make decisions that truly matter, and work on something that has real impact keeps me going, no matter how tough the journey gets.
