Ajdin Karic

Our main goal with Dekamas was to fill the gaps in traditional education by providing high-quality, accessible, and engaging online courses. We wanted to create a localized, AI-supported platform that offers practical, career-oriented knowledge, especially in business, technology, and creative fields. The idea was to combine top-tier content production with academic credibility to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
We received EU project funding, which has supported our platform’s development and content creation. The project is still ongoing and will continue until mid-year, giving us time to focus on marketing and user growth. Our goal is to become self-sustaining by the time the funding ends, generating revenue through subscriptions and certification fees.

While AI-powered tools can support learning, we believe that human-created courses and structured learning paths still offer a superior experience. AI is everywhere, but people still crave a human-to-human connection—especially in our region, where localized, high-quality content in the Bosnian language is scarce.
One of the biggest challenges has been maintaining high content quality while scaling production. We work with external industry experts, but every course must go through our internal review process to ensure it meets our educational and production standards. Initially, we experimented with a model where one team would write a course, and another person would deliver it, but that approach didn’t work well. The content we received often required heavy revisions or even complete rewrites, making the process inefficient. We realized that to maintain quality, we needed a more structured approach with strict content guidelines from the start. Balancing content depth, production quality, and efficiency remains a challenge, but we now have a refined process that ensures every course meets our standards before going live.

- Research your market deeply before building. We learned that understanding what people truly need before production saves time and resources. - Focus on quality over quantity. It’s better to have one excellent product than ten average ones. - Users don’t come automatically—marketing is crucial. A great product without strong promotion and user education won’t succeed. - Stay focused. Trying to do too many things at once can slow you down; complete one task before jumping to the next.
I’m driven by the vision of building a platform that truly impacts people’s lives. Seeing someone learn a new skill, gain confidence, or improve their career through Dekamas gives me a sense of purpose. I also have a strong persistence mindset—once I commit to something, I don’t quit. Challenges only push me harder to prove that this idea works. Of course, stress is part of the journey, and I’ve learned that taking breaks, resetting, and maintaining balance is key to staying motivated in the long run.
